Service Description: Short-term structured program for males (at the time of offense), who have been detained by a court order or ordered to serve a disposition of open custody and open detention

Case management plan is developed for each youth, and includes:
  • regular schooling within the unit
  • life skills training
  • assessment of skills and strengths
  • counselling
  • case conferences to determine planning for discharge
  • Youth also participate in a social skills and life skills programming which includes sessions on addictions
  • sexuality
  • self-esteem
  • anger management
  • job search
  • financial literacy
  • goal setting
  • problem solving 

Open residence, two purposes:
  • Open Custody Facility, for youth ordered to serve a disposition under the Youth Criminal Justice Act
  • Place of Detention, for youth temporarily detained by the court



Fees: None
Application: Youth are referred to the unit by the courts, probation officers, the police or other detention/custody facilities
Eligibility / Target Population: Males age 12 to 17 years old (at the time of offense)
Languages: English ; French - Designated Agency under the French Language Services Act
