Neuro music therapy * uses music and its characteristics to work on rehabilitation goals in the areas of speech, motor, and cognition following an acquired brain injury (ABI) * specialized in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT), which is based on the neuroscience of music and its influence on the brain * uses standardized music-based interventions to work towards functional goals * music therapy may also be used to address psychological needs
Therapeutic Music Education is an intervention that uses the experience of learning to play the piano to work on a range of goals in the areas of motor, cognition, or psychosocial health
