Service Description: One of 11 laboratories across the province, offering:
  • Clinical and environmental testing
  • Clinical consultation
  • Technical and customer service support
  • Education and training programs for laboratory professionals
  • Evaluation of new laboratory technologies and methodologies

To prepare for and respond to emergencies, the team: 
  • Provides laboratory surveillance
  • Tests for bioterrorism
  • Investigates outbreaks
  • Supports and contributes resources to incident management

Water testing: Performs potability tests of well water for individual residents in Ontario only. These tests only measure coliform and E. coli * The resident must pick up a special kit at the lab or at a Public Health Unit
