Service Description: Supports for culturally deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people

General Services:
  • personal counselling
  • Audiology and Hearing Aid Program
  • interpreter services
  • mental health counselling
  • employment services
  • information and referral
  • awareness raising

Hearing Healthcare:
  • hearing tests
  • prescriptions for hearing aids, and other assistive devices for adults, seniors and children over 3 years old
  • central auditory processing testing
  • lip reading classes
  • hearing aid orientation sessions
  • dispenses hearing aids, moulds and other devices
  • cleaning and minor repairs on the premises
  • wide variety of loaner aids

Technical Devices:
  • sells a full range of assistive devices such as TTYs, alerting/signaling devices, FM systems, and amplifiers
  • consultation about technical devices available to individuals and organizations wanting to become more accessible to the public

General Social Services:
  • counsellors are fluent in sign language and understand the special needs and concerns of clients
  • personal and family counselling
  • workshops
  • life skills training
  • assistance with social services so clients can maximize independence within the community

Seniors Outreach:
  • provides communication and hearing care support to enable seniors with an acquired hearing loss to carry out daily activities independently and with reduced communication difficulties
  • home visits

Hearing Care Counselling:
  • hard of hearing seniors 55 years and older get help from counsellors in communicating with family and friends
  • ensures a client’s safety at home by promoting independence
  • helps clients stay involved in their favorite activities
  • home visits

CONNECT Counselling:
  • accessible counselling and case management services to increase client potential in managing challenging situations more effectively

Sign Language Classes:
  • American Sign Language courses
  • taught by Deaf instructors
  • enrollment limited
